This is cool stuff. I love seeing people use the Wiimote in creative and really cool ways like this, especially when it's something practical.

I like this. Its a bit better than the guy who just showed it as finger stickers on the Wii. Nintendo sure has more things to be done with this basic technology.

It is FPS that is making the 360 lead in this race but it will also be FPS causing developers to not innovate like Nintendo that will kill the two consoles vs the Wii.

That guy you're referring to is Johnny Lee, he was the inspiration for this. This just shows that it has a practical use. Now I hope someone comes along and does something with his head tracking idea.
While I think the work that was done with the head-tracking was great. However it has nothing to do with MS Surface, And TrackIR has been out for years for the PC.

This isn't new, it's just really inventive uses of the Wii hardware.
Dont give hopes too high for the Wii to do anything fancy. It has a hard time processing already. I dont think it can be done on the Wii but maybe if someone else (Sony) would pick it up.

Who said this has anything to do with headtracking? You've seen Johnny Lee's video where he uses the Wiimote to create a multitouch interaction thing like this right? If not check it out on YouTube, it's what inspired this dudes company to make this. And I never said this concept was new, I said it's a cool MS Surface-esque thing being done with the Wiimote, which is incredibly cool considering how much a multi-touch tablet PC costs in comparisons to a Wiimote

Edit: Here's Johnny Lee's original video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0awjP...eature=related

Did you watch the video? None of this is done with the Wii, it's being done with the Wiimote. Since the Wiimote is bluetooth it can be used with a PC.

Yeah I watched the video but if anything software wise is going to make use of the remote like this, who do you think will own the rights to it?
When I started watching the video it didn't seem very interesting, but when you see the actual POV via the camera of it in action it was amazing.

Remember the early Wii commercial with the guy diving around his living room playing Metroid? This seems like a way to make that actually feasible (or useful).

That's headtracking, this thread has nothing to do with headtracking.
