In cases like this, if video quality suffers, then the DTS track or extras should just go, or there should be a 2 disc release. I am betting Joe Johnston had no say over the bit rate on this. I am sure SpielBorg wanted to maximize profits.

Too bad I didn't see this in a theater. Now when I rent the DVD, my first experience will be plagued by artifacts. Yippee.

hi

too bad isn't it ? grrrrr, "macroblocking, artefacts"

who's in charge there ???

from bare bone WATERWORLD or JACKAL dts discs to overloaded single disc. couldn't they just do a dual discs release??? it costs at worst $1 per disc !

clearly, J6Ps market rules.

The DTS version of the first JP movie had much worse videoquality than the R2 DD version. I was still contemplating if I should get the DTS R1 JP3 but now I definitely get the R2.
