JRiver / Jremote for video library management

fter a lot of trial and error, I finally am getting my concert Blu Rays ripped for playback with Jriver 19 / Jremote. Much to my dismay, I am finding that appears to be impossible to navigate videos in JRemote using a hierarchy, so your video titles will just list alphabetically. If you create individual "particules (for tracks)" they are just inserted in the single level list of content. This is of course completely unworkable. Is anyone aware of a solutions to organize / navigate video content in Jremote. If not are there better programs to manage video content from Jriver remotely?

Even in native Jriver, is seems like there is no way to move the particles one level deeper into the hierarchy - it is all just listed under the artist, next to the actual album. Almost unworkable. Am I missing something or is there a better way to manage video content using hierarchies in Jriver / Jremote?

What do you mean by hierarchies? Like Lethal Weapon 1, 2, 3 all show up as 'Lethal Weapon Collection?'

No. I am ripping concert BR. Ideally, I would like 4 levels deep:

Movies -> Rock -> Led Zeppeling -> The Song Remains the Same -> Individual tracks (created as particles).

This is probably impossible, but how deep can I go, and can Jremote support this. I think not.
Not in the movies section it can't. But what you can try doing is in the standard view, side click Videos and select Add Library View and name it Concerts or whatever. I haven't tried messing with it because I don't have any concert BRs but it looks like you can set it up somewhat like you are looking for. If it does what I think it's capable of you should end up with a pretty slick setup but you'll need to do some experimenting to get it there. Good luck!

Brilliant. Got it sorted out with library view as you suggested, getting exactly what I want!

While I have you attention, do you know how I can edit the start and stop playtime on particles (i.e. self-created segments on video discs)? I can initially create them, but can't figure out how to edit them.

Awesome. Glad you got it working.

This one is tougher and I'm not 100% sure but there is a media editor. I haven't played around with it but maybe you can cut and copy the files to get it to be what you're looking for. Tools -> Advanced Tools -> Media Editor. Open the file then mess around in there.

But if you aren't trying to edit the file itself and just specify a start and end time like you can on iTunes then try following this link . Haven't tried it but it could work.

tough one. You can edit playrange in the tag field, but not sure it is all working correctly. Additional complexity is this: On Blu Ray you just get a long list of titles and creating particles that jump to a title/track is straightforward. However, on regular DVDs you have a list of titles and within each title there are chapters. The actual songs are within one of the titles. How do you create particles that jump to chapters within the correct title?

No clue. That's way beyond my know how with JRiver. All that sounds really tough. Might want to ask on the JRiver forums as their know how is beyond what most of us know.

I second this. If your wishes are something that can't be done now, but might be useful for others too, the development team might consider adding them as a feature request. With Matt, the lead programmer, having serious health issues currently, it might take some time to address this though.
