Is there any way to program the skip button to be other than 30 seconds? During a baseball game I would love to make it skip 10 seconds.

No, you can do 30 seconds or any number of whole minutes, but you can't do less than a minute beside the default 30. But don't forget that instant replay is only 7 seconds, so if you QS once then IR 2 or 3 times, that is about 10 seconds

You could program a macro on one of the RS remotes (e.g. 15-1994 or its successor) to send QS, IR, IR, IR (net effect 9 seconds forward).

This has been posted many times and is (at least should be) in the FAQ.

(in all cases, 'hmm' is hours and minutes)

hmm + QS -> jump ahead hmm from current point

example: 2 + QS jumps 2 minutesahead, great for commercials

hmm + JUMP -> jump hmm from the beginning

example: 40 + JUMP puts you 40 minutes into the recording

hmm + IR -> jump back hmm from current point.

hmm + RTL -> jump hmm from the end

example: 10 + RTL, great for catching the musical guest on Letterman

example: 100 + RTL, puts you one hour before the end. Great for catching the last two minutes of an NBA game :p

Note: These only work the recorded or recording shows, not with "live" tv.

Actually, I didn't know about the "Return to Live" hack, that could well prove to be useful. Thanks Patrick.
