Just a thought on Satellite radio

One thing I was thinking about recently was that satellite might not REALLY take off until it becomes easier to get.


Just follow my analogies for a moment. Vonage was out for quite some time before cable companies started offering Voice doing the same thing. Tivo offered DVR service well before cable companies.


Yet cable companies are making it extremely easy to get and use because it gets packaged with things you already have.


With Satellite, it is being packaged as an option (which in some cases you have to pay more for) with a lot of new cars so thats a bonus, but there isn't anything in the home to make that happen.


Perhaps if a cable or phone company started to package a service together and made it extremely easy to use for people it would take off big time. XM and Sirius are the pioneer's, and I am an XM owner, but I think there is something missing for it to be taken to the next level.
