I'm graduating college this december, and Just took a position at a local company.. I've wanted a TV for a while so I finally bought one!

I read a bunch of really good reviews on the Panasonic G10.. My other choice was going to be a sony LCD..

I ended up ordering a 50" G10 tonight from best buy, and hopefully I'll be satisfied. The price is reasonable, and for this tv they offer 3 years interest free payment on their card.

The rest of our system will consist of a PS3, a cheaper sony 5.1 receiver, Klisch F3 towers, sony surrounds, and two sony 15" SA W3800 woofers..

The next upgrade would be a nicer receiver, a nice center, and surrounds...

I have 30 days to change my mind.... Should I ? ?

I thought of posting this in the G10 thread, but figured it would be very biased lol..

Thanks !

I guess more than anything I had narrowed my choices to a G10 as a plasma or a Sony KDL-52S5100... I've always been a pretty strong sony guy, but I just can't justify buying an LCD with a lower quality picture compared to a plasma.

5 years ago when the opinion that plasma TV's were junk, I became more interested in LCD's and have bought a couple of small ones over the years.. Now many companies claim that some of their Plasma TV's have a longer life than a comparably priced LCD..

To me, my opinion was that the sony lcd had a brighter, whiter white, but other than that the G10 had a better overall picture

May be you should be comparing the G10 with Sony Z or XBR series tvs. The sony S series and G10 are definetely not in the same league. I had owned a sony z4100 and now a G10. For me the deciding factor was the viewing angles and G10 won hands down. At the same time you need to think about the bang for the buck.

I think I like Sony's XBR a lot better, the 10 bit display engine is suppose to offer a great color range.. but thats a different price range as well.

I think the G10 offers a really good quality picture for the price..

The G10 is compared to the Sony V or Z series LCD. If you *want* to spend roughly $1000 more, then you can keep the G10 and send me a check!!!!1
I think you will love the G10 (I have a 42" G10). You stated you have a PS3, and since you said it first, I assume you game. Games look out of this WORLD on plasma. I choose it for its fast response (no lag) and full motion resolution.

And, you do have 30 days so...good luck, and congrats!
