Just bought my first HD flat tonight!

I was looking for a fairly cheap flat to mount on the wall in my bedroom since I had the electricians add a high outlet yesterday downstairs for the new 46"- 47" flat I have yet to decide on... I figured might as well do the upstairs too while they are there! I did some searching around and on-line and the chain stores and went to CC since I had a $99.00 credit there and found the flat to fit my 23" space above the dresser mirrors! This is it:

I lucked out as they were $300 off and fell in my budget plus it does 720p. That's a bonus because the Samsungs', etc... didn't fall in that range in HD. Amazingly it also has just a great picture and I like the styling since it is almost like the Samsung with the glass front. Sound is good too! Can't wait to get the bigger unit sorted out so I can have HD in the main areas!

You bought a polaroid tv? Hope it works out for you, you probably wont be getting a lot of kudos on it from this AVS group......
I kind of figured that. I looked around and couldn't really find anything on them. I guess they suck?

some people are just stuck in their ways. Personally I think the vizio suks ass but a lot of people like them... Can't stand phillips either.... Each thier own...
the last two weeks have disclosed hdtvs for under 200 bucks. element has a 15" job that is on sale at a big box store for $179.99. 720p!, hdmi, etc. i might get one for my outhouse. would they be able to withstand the fumes?
You'll find a large thread on Polaroids with a search. I've had a 32" for 14 months and it still looks great. No problems. Just got a 19" element, which is a rebadged Polaroid. It's got a great picture too. I use it as a computer/office monitor. Both look good hooked up to Satellite.
That was my thought. I really wasn't in search of a 720p but wanted close to the biggest wall-mounted piece I could fit so I didn't have to use a stand or an ugly shelf. The 26" Polaroid was an incredible buy at $300 off and looked great... plus the 720p feature was a bonus. Now I should have a good picture while nodding off at night. The set looks really nice to boot!

I couldn't find that thread so if you have a link to it I would like to read it.

I bought this 17 days ago for a little more from that same store, and just got a refund today on their price guarantee.

I like it. Picture quality on HD is darned good, and I watch it like a computer monitor, 18" or so. As of now, I have minor complaints but no major. If I used an antenna and rotating antenna, it would be major.

Only digital channels that were found on the most recent scan can be selected. This applies to both cable mode (QAM) and terrestrial mode (VSB). On cable, it means that I cannot tune the channels that are only sometimes broadcasting; since I don't pay for these, it is ok.

On terrestrial broadcast with a rotating antenna, it would SUCK. There are other threads discussing this behavior being common on some of the new receivers. Assume 25% of your stations are each north, east, south, west. Point the antenna north, scan and find perhaps 8 channels, 40% of what you might get. Now point it east and get 8 ... the ones that were northeast or close were found both times, but the weaker north ones aren't there any more. OUCH.

Channels cannot be labeled. It does display the transmitted info, so about half on cable have labels.

I've not tried the HDMI, SVGA, or component inputs. I'm pretty sure that the SPDIF (RCA, not optical) does not output anything unless watching a digital source, perhaps an HD source. I'm not connecting it to a receiver anyway, so it is not important. The headphone output works well.

I'd buy it again.
