Hi everyone

After reading multiple posts here, I finally got the courage and built HTPC

Gigabyte X38 based MOBO

Intel Q6600

ATI HD2600XT

4 GB DDR2 RAM

LG comobo drive

1.5 TB HDD

Colermaster CM media RC 280 case

Corsair modular PSU

Scythe fans (120mm)

I hooked it to my DVDO VP50 processor and then to my Pioneer elite PRO620HD ( CRT rear projection HDTV) - its 1080i TV

Question I have is that when I have main desktop displayed on TV screen , it flickers . I have tried multiple resolutions and refresh rates from ATI catalyst , doesnt make any difference. However media center and any thing played through media center is smooth and flawless. Why does rest of the PC screen flickers on my TV??/

The "i" part is the problem, the card is not dealing with the interlacing very well. This is the joy of a RPTV CRT and a PC desktop. You should read the Powerstrip sticky to see if you can create a "p" resolution that your set will accept.

Ihave connected HTPC to DVDO video processor , so thats converting it to I. I'm outputting 1080p from video card.

Again flicker is only when viewing regular desktop. But media center and watching movies is smooth??
