i turned it on and i was so happy, no buzzing at all!!!!!, i turn it off take a shower, get on my couch turn it on again and i hear buzzzzzzzzzzz. Its not as loud as the first one i got from amazon but i still hear buzz. If i have the volume on i cant hear a damn thing only when on mute. Question is guys should i keep this one or exchange it for another tv, also i am new to plasmas so could you tell me if its common for all plasmas to buzz?

I have always wondered about this (seriously) - why do guys care if their TV buzzes when it is on mute? Do you sit and watch a lot of TV on mute?

I would agree. Why would you care if you can hear the buzz when it is on mute. I would say that is a non issue.

its annoying because when your watching movies and its a real quiet scene you still can hear the buzz a little.

I hear a tiny buzz on both my panasonics...I say if it has no dead/stuck pixels and no blemishes on screen KEEP IT!

I use my set as a PC monitor and often have no sound (like when reading AVS forum postings).

Buzzing would certainly bother me for this use.

With normal TV/movie watching, somewhat less of an issue - except if it becomes distracting in quiet scenes.

A little electronic buzz is nothing. If it is something you cannot really hear unless very close to the screen then who cares? A loud obnoxious buzz though might be a dealbreaker.

You should hear my nearly 5 year old Zenith plasma with a Cablecard. As soon as the card goes in, the small cooling fan for that slot starts and a transformer whine/hum starts up. Completely normal operation when using Cablecard and yet it has done nothing to affect my enjoyment of the set. Too busy looking at the sweet calibrated screen approaching 18K hours.

I plan to upgrade soon to a new Panny or Sammy 3D and will likely be more picky than before. Also no cablecard slots in the new sets so that worry is gone. Rising blacks are of greater concern to me than any small buzz anyway.
