The non hd channels will not showed up(1-98 channels). Has any one else had this problem? I called comcast, but they could not help and only chance that might fix the problem was to change the box out.

Most cable companies are still tranmitting channels 2-99 in analog, With channels 100 and above being either SD or HD digital. If Comcast supplied the RNG to you and they have switched to all QAM digital tranmissions ever for channels 2-99 then their installer should certainly make your all digital RNG PVR unit work for you.

Could be a bad box, as the RNG200 is Analog and digital


Shut off, wait 5 mins for the drive to stop, unplug from wall for 5 mins

Just plug back in, but don't turn box on

Let it reboot till the display remains blank = 5+ mins?

then turn on

Who knows what they are doing



I know my area is not all digital

Had no problem with the RNG200's, but they also brought a RNG150, which is spec'd as Digital only, but they couldn't get it to work

had to swap out for a SA4250


The RNG200 is a sister to the 8550 without the RCA's on the front
