Just received my InFocus 7210 - replacement for my 4805...

All I can say is WOW!!!!

I purchased the 4805 just over 3 years ago and have loved every minute that I've used it...incredible picture - BUT, the 7210 is just unbelievable!

The picture on the 7210 is mind boggling...absolutely POPS!

It has to be at least 10x quieter than my 4805. The 7210 is mounted in the same location as the 4805 was (overhead), and is so quiet I just don't notice it...the noise from the 4805 never bothered me, but it was noticeable.

Anyway, thought I should give a special thanks to Murph for his posts about the 7210 and the excellent value/deal that can be found for the 7210.

Also quick thanks to everyone else that posted regarding the 7210...it made it a no brainer for me to purchase it and as mentioned, I LOVE IT!!!

Now all I need is the Mack bulb warranty...

Well, this 4805 owner is officially jealous! I really have to start working harder to convince my wife...
Justin does it give you that 3d pop in hd material and how does it compare with the 4805 in sd material
Frankly I couldn't peel my eyes away.

I'll take a look at SD and report back.

Cheers,

Justin

The 7210 throws a spectacular image. Before I came across my sharp 20000 the 7210 was on my short list.
Absolutely stunning!

Justin, do get that MACK bulb warranty.
Ditto Justin, I'm another member of the 4805 to 7210 club and it is one fantastic projector, I'm shooting on a home built 110" screen.. I had ordered one of the Marance VP4001 projectors they were selling online, but then came to my senses and cancelled it and ordered the 7210 best thing I ever did. And the other nice thing about it is you don't even have to learn a new remote. JD
Did you use the same mount for 7210? I would like to replace my 4805 but I am afraid I have to buy a new mount if the screws are in a different place.
Hey licnyc, nope the screws are not in the same place. I have an adjustable universal type mount and the same mount worked for mine. JD
I want to pick this unit up but have heard some mixed reviews on the Mack warranty. Is this a legit and good warranty? Anyone have any real life experiences? Seems kinda cheap for what they give you.

Upgrading from a broken down 4805 :-(

No Pats on the big screen!!! LOL

I have re-searched most of the other companies and felt better about going with the MACK based on the opinions I have read. I don't think I have read anywhere where someone got hassled or did not get the replacement when needed.
Throw me on the old 4805 wagon :) I just purchased the 7210 and can't wait for the shipment! I confirmed with Mack about their warranty on the bulb and they sounded legit.

Anyone here using a DIY screen? I have a 96" polywall w/ Behr Silverscreen. It was good for the 4805 to bring out more blacks, but now I'm afraid it's going to ruin the brighter image.

The Superbowl is going to be fantastic!!!! Now the projector just needs to arrive. X-mas in January!!! LOL

Cheers
I had a Mack warranty for my Nikon D70 I bought off of Ebay. I had a few calls into them and they were really upfront about everything which I thought was nice for a change. They've been around for a while so they must be doing something right.

You'll love the improvements very much.

I have a DW laminate which I will make the screen out of. However, mech and some others are working on a Pigment Free Grey which can be painted on the DW so if that gets done before I make the screen I may opt for that.

Great to hear, I can't wait to see a native 720P high end machine in my theater :)

Let me know how that pigment free paint ends up making out. I might remove my frame and roll the polywall again. I used floetrol the first time and it was smooooooth, no bubbles.
Seem they have finished the testing and issued the formula. Looks quite impressive. It is now called Black Widow PFG. Check it out at Hometheatershack DIY screen section.
Looks very very good. I'm trying to locate a gallon of the aluminum paint for a reasonable amount of $$$ I'm ready to part with my Silverscreen....
Yes, same here. Have not looked yet, but I hope it is reasonable.

BTW - You only need 4-8 oz of the Aluminum so maybe you want to find a quart.
