JVC D-ILA Firewire

447 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Meestor_X
I'm hoping that someone who has one of these sets (the HD-xxFx97 series) can tell me if it's possible to connect the firewire connection to a PC and record/playback video to/from the TV?

Thank you in advance!

Try the JVC 1080 thread.
I can't see any answer there. Upon searching that thread for the words "firewire" and "1394" I found a post where a guy is also asking, and a guy who tried but didn't install the drivers, etc. Other people saying the setting is greyed out...

Maybe you're better at searching than I am, but I can't see anything there that answers my question...

Thanks for trying, though!
Try the computer forum. There is a whole thread devoted to 1394 recording.
I've tried with my Mac and it doesn't work. It seems like the only device you can use is a JVC VHS, as stated on the TV's manual.
Thanks for trying!

I'm not a Mac guy so I don't know what happens normally when you plug a mac into a firewire-enabled PVR. Did it not get recognized at all?

Is there an equivalent of VLC for macs that could test for playback and recording via that connection?
