Interesting results on the JVC poll I started a few days ago - with approximatly 80%+ indicating that they are satisfied with the JVC and only 5% saying "forget it - buy the Panasonic." So, I thought I'd float another poll to see which set those of you who have taken a serious look at these two TVs would pick and why - what are the various pros and cons that factored into your vote?

Hmmm. The JVC is creaming the Panny. Given the problems that have been so widely reported with the JVC, I wouldn't have figured such a wide margin. Keep the votes coming.

I'd be very interested to see the results of this one. I own the Sammy DLP and it's going back because of service issues. I am strongly considering the JVC, but am still open to anything.

I find this thread really interesting too, since these are the exact two TVs I have narrowed my field down to (still possibly considering Tosh DLP some too but mostly these 2). I looked at these 2 sets side by side for quite a bit and thought that the JVC looked better by a hair. My wife complaining about the side speakers adds to the JVC as well as the fact I can get rid of my center channel and use the JVC speakers. My only con against the JVC is the fact that it is a new tech (at least in RPTVs), and some of the posts on here scare me, but so do the HLP posts I guess.


But at first when I saw your other poll I was thinking "this poll is really aimed at me


I will probably get the JVC when my local store gets the next shipment in next week. But both these set's pictures were awesome.

I'm still undecided on which set to buy. The two JVC polls have been very interesting and keeping an eye on the other threads has been helpful too. I guess I'm surprised that so many people vote for the JVC in spite of the problems that have been written about so much concering color aberation. I'm just glad I'm being patient (at lease for now) about doing something.
