Hello all, i am trying to find the throw distance calc for this project so that i can tell my contractors where i will need them to run the cables to in order to hook up the JVC DLA-RS50U projector.

I checked out the projectorcentral.com website but they have no information on the throw distance, etc for that new projector. I was hoping someone here had knowledge of what it will be so they can help me out in where i need to place it on the ceiling.

The only information that site gives for this projector is:

The JVC DLA-RS50 is manufactured by JVC.

My projector screen is wall H125: 16:9 ratio, 125" wide image XBT: Center Stage XD, black backing, tab tensioned 08: 8" drop. And the room width is around 30 feet.

Any help would be great so i don't tell them to put an outlet somewhere that the projector will not be in the area to use.

Throw of 1.4-2.8 would give approx 175-350 inches for 125 in wide screen if I've figured that correctly.

So i should be safe if i put the project around 15-20feet away from the screen to project the 125" image, correct?

15 would be about as close as you can go with a 125" WIDE screen. (If you meant 125" diagonal then you would be in good shape.)
