JVC Engine for Hang-on-the-Wall RPTVs

TOKYO — To better compete against flat-screen TV sets, Victor Company of Japan Ltd. (JVC) has developed an optical engine that allows a 60-inch class rear projection TV to have a depth of just 10 inches.

Should give Plasma a run for the money. Wonder how they are doing with something to replace the lamp??

This unit will not be LED based but bulb, as a JVC rep had told. Should be released late 2007, I'm assuming June or July. This unit will most likely be showcased at CES 2007 in January.
