JVC's camcorder apparently captures 1280x720 at 30 progressive frames per second. The price is estimated to be $2,500.


What's interesting is this line, from the article:


"includes both an ''up converter'' and a ''down converter'' function which enables the 525 line resolution progressive and interlaced video to be played on an HDTV"


Basically, you can record 1280x720 but you wont be able to view it via analog unless its downconverted. To get the full 1280x720 playback, you apparently need a JVC television with their D-theater type connection.


What a joke! I would be first in line if this had component video output... Hollywood DRM strikes again.
