I read somewhere on this forum that these 2 sets KD34XBR960/KD34XS955 do NOT share the same picture tube. The XBR has the 2nd generation super fine pitch tube while the XS has the 1st generation super fine pitch tube. I was wondering where this information is documented. It seems that the sales people at sonystyle are saying the opposite. When I was at the store I specifically asked if they shared the same tube and the sales person assured me that they are the same tube with the XBR only having more bells and whistles. Can someone confirm or deny this ? I also looked at sonystyle.com for information about the tubes but could find anything other than they both have a super fine pitch tube.

Also has anyone noticed color bleeding from light colors into a dark background on either if these sets ?

mkinzlma,

I watch 50% SD, 25% HDTV, 25% DVD so far. SD sucks (naturally) but is stretched and proportioned very very well compared to other sets I've seen. DVD quality is outstanding. Of course HD is awesome. The only gripes I have is imperfect geometry.

Hey guys,

I too have just purchased the KD34xs955 and love it. My question is, has anyone had any luck setting this set up with their PC and Powerstrip so they get no or very little overscan. I have messed around with Powerstrip for days and can't seem to get anything to work that's usable. I have an FX5200 vid card and have it connected to the TV via DVI to the HDMI input.

Thanks
