The two models use the same panel with the same specs. On the XBR2 you get for an extra $500 or so:
- Floating glass design
- Better version of video processing SW and a few more user adjustable settings
- Better remote
- One additional HDMI port
The video processing SW really doesn't seem to play much of a factor since most of the professional reviews suggest turning off most of the features. Essentially, the price difference goes towards a more stylish cabinet, slightly better interface and expandability.
