I dont have a HDTV cable yet and wondering how can i improve the pic quality of the TV. I followed the settings from the previous thread (KDL46xBR2 calibration/settings) and the pic quality is really dark and i am really dissapointed. I really need a hand on doing this. Thanks in advance.
I found that the 'custom' settings you described work really well with Blu Ray and DVD over HDMI...although I bumped up my brightness a few notches as well.
For SD & HD broadcast and SD cable I usually just leave my 40XBR in the 'standard' setting.
One push of the remote will select standard, vivid, or custom and since the TV remembers the setting by input I usually don't have to mess with it.
And and Joe_M mentioned, get a calibration DVD and follow the directions to setup your exact television with your ambient lighting conditions.
