I have read the rather lengthy thread involving the Sovereign line at this site and read the many small bugs involved with the 5900M--slow, inability to read certain disc titles, etc. All of which I probably would be able to live with but I have also heard at other sites that the 5900M is very noisy--to the point of one reviewer stating it was overcoming the voices in some movies. The unit because of its size may have to sit in the open and not be in a cabinet--just how noisy is the unit on a regular basis? Is it great enough that it distracts from movies/CDs? How does it compare to other components/players as they all seem to have some noise--is it much greater? If the player does what the specs say with only small annoyances and bugs, and not extreme levels of noise, sounds like a great deal if audio/video performance is on par with single play players in the $2,000 plus category. Raw performance is the key if the bugs are at a small enough level and noise is not an issue. Thanks.
