I live in an apartment so I kinda have to go with the Home theater in a Box set-up, (I cant do the monster system right now).
The best "htib" I have listened to so far and was the most impressed with is the Denon 682 and the Kenwood htb-205, I liked them both but I did feel the Denon sounded a tiny bit better, but then again it cost more than the Kenwood.
The Denon speakers are better but if I get the Kenwood I would get better speakers later down the road.
Ive seen post where it has been said the Dennon was a pain to operate and the remote sucks and that concerns me, I like user friendly stuff.
I have narrowed it down to these two units and would love to get some input from owners of the Kenwood and the Denon.
