In the category of "I wouldnt mind that on my amp" here is a new feature Kenwood is adding to their new receivers-

============================================

Perhaps more useful to the convenience buff, the top three receivers also have the ability to internally convert video signals to another format. Thus you can connect a single video cable to your display and not have to worry about switching inputs. The model with component video can convert composite and S-video to component, and the others can convert composite to S-video.

This is a f'n cool feature.

Hopefully it does the s-mart thing as upconverted composite and s-vid to YPbPr.

Does the Onkyo 989 do it? Because I don't like Kenwood at all...

Jerry makes a good point. I don't

think I'd want every source up'ed

to component but uping all compsite

to S-video with a good Y/C mixer is

a long overdue feature!
