i have a kenwood receiver and i was wondering if anyone had the same problem i am having. when i turn on the receiver and turn it up to a certian point it just shuts off and has a blinking red light where the power light is. please help me i spent a lot of muney on this receiver and i would really like it to work.

sounds LIKE it's GOING INTO PROTECTION MODE.


Check your speaker wires.

my speaker wires are fine, umm what is protection mode? and i don't really know when the guy that i got it from bought it.

ok i unplugged all of the wires and it still shuts down at a certain level of volume so the problem is internal i was wondering if there was any way to find out what was shorting out. or will i have to get a new amp?

i also have a sony str-d865 with the screen broken on it i plugged it in one day and the screen was blank and i didn't know what happened and it turned out that something shorted in the screen and blew the fuse so i replaced the fuse and it still is blank. any help is welcome.

You need to take it in for repairs or buy a new receiver. I suggest a Yamaha 463 or higher.
