This is nuts. I was looking to buy an NEC LT154 because I wanted the extra lamp life. Basically, it's an NEC VT540 in a smaller shell with slightly less light output and less lamp life (900 lumens instead of 1000, 1000-2000 hours regular-eco instead of 2000-3000 hours).

According to dsspotato in another thread, they were selling these babies for $3600 for two! Too bad it wasn't open and the deal is over, but for $2700, this is still pretty dang good. Too bad it doesn't have MLA http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/frown.gif

I don't know why Dell is offering such a great deal on this projector, and they are the only company I know that sells the LT154. They are selling the LT155 for $5000.00 and if the only difference is the MLA, then is the MLA that incredible of a technology. I do not see any specification differences on the Nec site www.nec-pj.com besides the 900 vs 1200 lumens. It does not even mention MLA.

How does the MLA work and how does it take the SAME bulb, the (LT55LP) and add 300 more lumens. These projectors have the same manual and no mention of this as a feature, just lumens.

And, for any takers, is the DVI interface of the LT156 that big of a deal for displaying DVDs? Dell's price is actually cheaper for the LT156 then the LT155. Go figure...

What's up with all this??

I just checked the Dell site and the price is back to $3,599. Guess I won't be sending back my LP340 just yet.....

Congrats to anyone who got in on the 2-for-1 deal. Sounds like the best deal to come along since the $1500 DL450 clones!
