I have been trying to catch up on all the Panasonic 2012 Plasma threads. One theme keeps reccuring to my alarm. I see that some enthusisists keep returning their plasma TV's multiple times to get the "perfect" TV. Others are using every trick in the book to get a "price match", then trying to get more of a discount by taking advantage of other sales promotions, in addition to the price match, to lower their purchase price even further. Still others are complaining that Panasonic should offer every size TV in the book, in every model, without regard to the fact that they would need to make a profit in these sizes to supply you with these TV's.
Panasonic is losing a Billion dollars this year.(!) Their plasma division is on life support. They may not even have a plasma division in the not too distant future. This is like repeating the Pioneer business model, where they tried to improve the TV, but lost their shirts doing it.
The plasma TV makers have to make a profit on their plasma TV offerings, or they won't be able to create them next year, or the year after that. They have to make a profit, or you won't have a 2013 plasma to worry about. I think that if you care about the continuation of great TV's, you and I have to help them to profit from their best offerings.
Just my two cents. Have a nice day.
