The Klipsch Heritage Theater Bar is a passive soundbar that reproduces the three front LCR channels with legendary Klipsch technology.

Most soundbars are all-in-one audio systems that include several speaker drivers and amplifiers to drive them. The passive Klipsch Heritage Theater Bar takes a different approach, providing three channels of speaker drivers and no amps. Users must supply their own amplification from dedicated power amps or an AV receiver. This allows Klipsch to focus exclusively on making the drivers the best they can possibly be.

Each channel utilizes a 3/4" titanium-diaphragm compression tweeter in a 90°x90° Tractrix horn, a hallmark of Klipsch speakers. The driver itself employs the company's LTS (Linear Travel Suspension) technology to minimize distortion. Joining the horn-loaded tweeter are two 4" Cerametallic woofers, another Klipsch-exclusive driver technology. All drivers are mounted within a sealed enclosure.
The spring-loaded input terminals for all three channels are found on the front of the Klipsch Heritage Theater Bar. Speaker cables from the amplifier are routed through the rear of the unit.

This combination of drivers and enclosure results in a frequency response from 95 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), a sensitivity rated at 92 dB/W/m, and a maximum continuous output of 108 dB (114 dB peak). With a low-frequency extension of only 95 Hz (75 Hz at -10 dB), users will definitely want to pair the unit with a good subwoofer.

The Klipsch Heritage Theater Bar is available in widths from 49.5" to 80" in order to match the size of various flat-panel TVs. Also, the cabinet is available in four furniture-grade wood-veneer finishes as well as raw and primed for paint. In addition, four removable grille-cloth options are available. A low-profile, built-in wall-mounting system is only 1/4" deep.

I have little doubt that the Klipsch Heritage Theater Bar sounds great, with perfect tonal balance across the front LCR soundstage. But it ain't cheap. The "quick-ship" version is 49.5" wide—which fits the width of most 55" TVs—in an American walnut or satin-black ash finish with a black-knit grille cloth for $2199. Customized units from 49.5" to 65" wide are $2699, and widths from 65.1" to 80" are $2999.
