Hello fellow forum members, i am planning to buy new klipsch 5.1 HTS. I don't have big budget but still wants good HTS. i have shortlisted some of klipsch system are as follows :-

1. Quintet Home Theater System 5.0 + SW 350 Sub. ( http://www.klipsch.com/quintet-home-theater-system-2012 )

2. Synergy B-20 Home Theater System. ( http://www.klipsch.com/b-20-home-theater-system )

3. HD Theater 500 Home Theater System. ( http://www.klipsch.com/high-definition-theater-500-home-theater-system )

Please tell which system suits best with Denon AVR 1612.

Any of those systems will work fine with that Denon receiver. Personally I would go with the Synergy line as that is going to provide you with the best quality audio out of the three systems that you linked to.

Bookshelf speakers are great for those on a budget as well as those who really don't have the room for floor standers in their room. The biggest drawback to bookshelf speakers is that they can't hit lower frequencies with as much authority as their bigger counter parts and they sometimes don't have as smooth of a mid range. Having said that, you are looking at a 5.1 system which has a subwoofer included. This will take the burden of carrying the low frequencies off of the bookshelves and allow them to play the rest of the frequency range with more authority. I just happened to look at Klipsch's website to see what kind of price difference there is between the bookshelf and floor stander systems and I personally would stick with the bookshelves. The price increase to the floor standers in the Synergy line would be better spent to get into a set of Reference bookshelves. Of course this is all my opinion

Honestly it all depends on your listening habits and personal tastes. I have not actually heard the KEFs, but they have a great reputation for being musical speakers. From what I understand the two brands have completely different sound characteristics. The main thing is that a lot of people love Klipsch and a lot of people hate Klipsch. They really seem to be a polarizing company. KEF, on the other hand, has many fans and not a lot of detractors. Personally I love the sound characteristics of Klipsch. They tend to be bright and forward speakers that have great Dynamic range which make them great for HT and for a lot of modern music. If you are going to be mainly listening to music, especially jazz or classical music and not watch a lot of movies I would look at the KEFs. If you are looking for a great HT set that also works well for music I would look at the Klipsch speakers. The main thing is to make sure you like them. I ended up with a set of Klipsch Reference series speakers for my HT gear as you can see in my signature, but they may not work for you. There are so many great choices at any budget price point that you could go crazy analyzing every last detail of each set. Since the top of your budget seems to be around $1200-$1300 I would skip the floor standers as you will have to take a dip in overall quality to get them since they are so much more expensive than bookshelves. I don't want to cloud the issue but another great choice at this price point would be to check out Ascend Acoustics speakers. They have gotten near unanimous rave reviews here on the site and around the net for their performance in this price category and a 5.0 set with the CMT-340 SE mains, CMT-340 SE center, CMT-170 SEs run about $1200 plus shipping and a bit for stands. Add a Klipsch RW-12D from Newegg for $300 or a BIC F12 for around $200 on Amazon and that would be a pretty kick ass system. That definitely adds a bit to your budget but I think many people would tell you that the Ascends would sound better than any of the previously mentioned systems.

The Klipsch RW-12D is a better sub and i would buy bookshelf speakers. Klipsch Reference series speakers are much better than the Synergy line. Kef Q series speakers are also very good but it depends on how much you pay for them in India.

Thanks i have checked it they are very cheap here in amazon man as compare to India. i think why klipsch products are costly here because due to import duties and taxes. now i'm planning to get myself a pair of Klipsch RF62ii floorstanders now what's your opinion on this one. please tell or i need sub with floorstanders ???

If budget is limited you will get better performance from bookshelf speakers paired with a good sub. The RF-62 II are good speakers but don't give subwoofer bass performance, no tower in that price range will.

If you could afford those KEF Q300 bookshelf speakers, then this would be my recommendation. In the US, you can get comparable quality with the Ascend Acoustics SE series while saving a substantial amount of money, but I know nothing about their relative prices in India. If the KEFs would be more affordable for you, then in my opinion go for those.

KEF Q300 cost INR = 33000/ US $606 a pair here in India.

I would buy the Q300, you should try to negotiate a deal for speakers and a sub.

I would definitely get the KEFs. The prices for the Klipsch speaker sets are way too much for the performance. Just try and find a nice sub to go with them.

The polk just happens to be the best subwoofer that you have listed there. Are there other subwoofers in that price range that are better? Possibly, but its hard for us to help you with that because we don't know what prices for subwoofers are like in India, so we make suggestions based on given information and the Polk sub will play cleaner and deeper than the other two subs listed.

I would deff step up to atleast a bookshelf setup if in the same price range as the sattelites. I had the older Quintets with the 10" 450W sub and sounded great, but I did not realize what I was missing until I stepped up to a bigger package.
