Looking for some opinions on these speakers. These would primarily be used as a 2 channel system used for various types of music but mostly hard rock. Also what would a fair price for a set of used speakers of this age ?

I owned a couple sets of them, they are very good speakers, could use the crites tweeter upgrades and a crossover upgrade. They were known for having cabinet seams that came loose, so check that before you buy (play some bass heavy music and see if you can feel air passing through seems, mainly the front and back of the speakers) If they have bad seams then use some PL premium construction adhesive and apply it generously on the inside ( by taking out one of the woofers) seams. I wouldn't pay more than $700 for a nice pair.
