I have had a pair of Klipsch KSP-400 speakers for about 6 or 7 years. When I first got the speakers, I noticed a buzz from the speakers. After doing some research, I found that if I used a 3 -> 2 prong adapter for the power cord, the buzz went away.


Now, all of the sudden, with no change in my setup, the buzz is back. I have tried removing the 3 -> 2 adapter. I have tried using a power strip. I have tried not using a power strip


The speakers work without electrical power, but I lose the functionality of the built in subwoofer.


Any ideas? I love these speakers and I am not in a good position to replace them.

you have a ground loop problem. Do you have cable?


This sounds like your problem


If so get a jensen ground loop isolator to solve this. I think Parts Express .com has them

I think I found what you were talking about, but it was for car audio, not home. I called Klipsch yesterday. The buzzing is a lot louder than a ground loop buzz. They think the amp went bad.


I do have cable. I have had cable for about a year and a half. Why would that cause a buzz all of a sudden?
