Hey, so right now I have a 4.0 config with a Yamaha TSR 7850 receiver from Costco. I have Klipsch RP4000F's for front left and right and Fluance Signature Series Hi-Fi Bipolar for surround's. Last night I watched the uhd hdr bluray of Hacksaw Ridge with this setup on my C8 OLED. I was blown away by the sound. Even though the klipsch towers are mini-floor standers and their woofers only 4 inches, I thought they sounded awesome with an incredibly wide sound stage and pristine clarity. Had no trouble hearing dialogue even without a center. I believe I must have them positioned perfectly because the phantom center effect is working beautifully.

But I have been wondering how the Ascend Acoustics sound over them as I'm still within my return period. I keep hearing great things about the 340 se's among HT enthusiasts. The prices are almost exactly the same, if anything I believe the 340's are slightly cheaper. Has anyone listened to both?

Haven't heard those Klipsch, but used to own the 340s and I suspect if you tried them you'd end up reselling your Klipsch.

I’ve heard both. I’ve also heard the bigger RP towers.

Without trying to scream like a shill, the Ascends are better than the RP4000F’s in almost every possible way.

I would say the RP6000F’s come close to overall performance, and the RP8000F’s maybe slightly beating them (this is due to their efficiency and bass extension not just pure SQ), but they also cost 1.4-2.4x than the Ascends.

One key though, is you can get healthy discounts from Klipsch dealers which increase their value to match the Ascends. The Ascends are the best value pick IMO.

Higher than normal efficiency, high power handling, neutral response (very key!), smaller form factor, etc.

^^ Agreed with both posters above. I do have 3 of the 340's in my basement as a LCR strictly for HT and also have the RP8000F's in my living room for music/tv. The 8000's might have a slight upper edge from the 340's considering double 8" woofers but so is their price :)
