I have a busted surround speaker for my Logitech Z-680 5.1 that I use for home theater. I was looking to get the Klipsch S-1 Synergy to replace the surround speakers. Does anyone know if it's safe to use different brand speakers on the Z-680? The Logitech speakers are rated 62W and the S-1's are rated 50W. Will they break/blow out if I connect them to the Z-680?

You should be fine. Are the z 680 speakers 4ohm or 8ohm? If they're 4 ohm, the logitech amp may have some trouble putting enough power into the 8ohm klipsch, but, on the other hand, the klipsch are pretty sensitive so you should be OK. The biggest issue may become trying to balance the levels, which I'm guessing the logitech amp doesn't let you do.

the speakers are 8 ohms I believe. And what does it mean by balancing the levels? Is it just volume adjustment for the different speakers? Cuz there are separate volume settings to adjust front, center, and the surround speakers
