I have the AIM 8's now in my drop ceiling now, I was thinking of replacing them with the Klipsch S-2. My problem is on the wall to my left I will have to mount the S-2 to a beam that hangs down 6.5 inches from the ceiling. The speaker will be 6.5ft up, I have a 7ft ceiling, the speakers will be about 3.5ft from each side of me, from where I sit. Should I mount the S-2 so they point downword, or leave them flat on the wall. And do you think the S-2's will sound that much better then the AIM 8's I already have in the ceiling now.

IMO not a chance that S-2 sounds better then the AIM8.

well. haven't heard the s-2's, but I would doubt they'd be any better than the AIM8s... and if they were a little better, probably wouldn't be worth the time and money to change them, unless you wanted to add them on the sides of your listening area to create a 7.1 system.

At lower price points i'm preferential to the in-ceiling speakers. So, I'd stick with the AIM8s anyway. Whatever your decision, i'm sure you'll be happy.
