With all the respect for the administrators and users, i don't mean to open repetitive threads about products already talked, but, in my opinion the KRELL FOUNDATION + KRELL S-1500 have all the ingredients to become classified as the new Death Star of Home Theater.

It's finally time for the Denon AVP-A1HD + POA-A1HD to come out of the King chair.

Of course, this is based in more than one opinion around the globe.

Here the owners and future owners can discuss this set and share with all the fans their experience and joy.

Enjoy...

People dont seem to be very interested. Due to one thing or another. I am actually happy about this. People wont take a chance. A Krell for that price must be junk. Some people think it is a rebadged Emotiva. Even though it is built in there Connecticut manufacturing facility.

It has intelligent hdmi which from every review I have read works flawlessly.

It uses the same dacs as the oppo 105.and a whole bunch more going for it.

Again cant wait.

Yeah a couple avsers addino being one said he believes that it may be a rebadged Emotiva.

Sure it does have the cirrus logic chipset from 2007ish in it. But it is their, cirrus logics latest and greatest. And contrary to what one person saying, it is capable of full 5.1 channel dsd. At least the dsp is.

You have to download the pdf. And it also is not discontinued. Only two versions of it are. It comes in multiple versions of the same dsp. The Cary cinema 12 uses the same dsp I believe. Again it is an older dsp but still good. It is however no Ti aureus. But it doesn't seem to need to be.

Still could't confirm if the Foundation is a Emotiva rebadge, but when i have the confirmation i will post. But that should be only rumors of people that don't have anything else to do...

If there is a pic of the interior of the Emo we could tell. There is a pic of the interior of the krell on the Heimkino website.

Like i said and it's confirmed with the dealer, it's not a rebadge, krell is krell.

I am really interested in the Foundation.

This afternoon i also read a review of something that might be a nice surprise...the Yamaha CX-A5000 + MX-A5000.

I don't know exactly if we can compare it to the Krell or Denon AVP + POA because it's a $6000 set, but looks like a very rich set.

Yeah I was reading about that set also. It peaked my interest. A Yamaha brochure when I was 16 is what got me started in this addictive hobby we love so much. I fell in love at first sight.

Take a look at this set in Gold and if you have the same taste as i do you will love it, makes it very rich.

On their website you can choose the color at the end of the artcle.

But let's continue to discuss the Krell...

MV-Cinema:

I had not expected a Yamaha link in a Krell thread.

Jeff

Already corrected, you are right. My apologies

The 1200U has an output that says Digital Output. The Foundation i don't think it does...

Is this the same as the RF-AC3 Output on my Susano that allows me to play Dolby Digital AC-3 Laserdiscs?

Or i will need an external demulator with the Krell?

Already talked to Krell about it and it decodes, because AC3 its the old designation for Dolby Digital

true but what makes the RF-AC3 special is the RF demodulator part so the signal could be decoded from the laserdisc. older Pioneer flagships (49txi, 59txi, susano) and the old Denon 5803/5805 receivers were the only ones with the special input.

I highly doubt you could use that input on the Krell for your AC3 lasers. if all it was was standard Dolby Digital, there would have been no need for it in the 1st place, could have just used std coax/optical connection on the LD player to send the signal digitally.

no matter which modern prepro you go with, you'll need an ext demodulator. or you can look at replacing the AC3 LD's with Blu-ray
I had about a dozen of AC3 LD's & IIRC, I think all have been released on BD now.

and they're still out there:

I could always keep my Pioneer SC-LX90 for the AC3 only and use also the Krell Foundation. But use the Susano only for AC3 looks to me exagerated....
