Just curious as to whether this is still a viable product for movies?- I just got the OPPO 83 SE and was thinking of using this combo to get the new high def codecs w/o spending a fortune- again this is just for movies as I do not do 2 channel- thanks bill

Me and a friend both have recently purchased a HTS 7.1 for a great price,compared to the other pre/pro's.I have used the Classe SSP 600 and Anthem D2, and the Krell is great in both 2ch and 7.1....We will both be getting the Oppo so i will have to say it will work perfectly for what you are after.Let me know if you have any questions,as i have asked Krell plenty.

are you looking for black or silver,i have a silver one that was built in 2007 with ver3.4.

Make sure to check the build date by running the ser# through Krell.I would be iffy about buying a old 2002 model for $1500 when you could by a 5yr newer on for $3-400 more.

The only thing it's missing is HDMI and the new hi rez formats. Sound quality is still amongst the absolute best.


With the price of the HTS7.1 being as low as the are (used), you can always get a nice video processor for the HDMI and for hi rez, just use the 7.1 input. Works like a charm!!!
