Sony hasn't announced any new lines as far as I know of . There is the 40XBR800 but that is 4.3, as far as picture quality the 910 has super fine dot pitch which is supposed to make HD look sharper and all around viewing

should be better. If you really want the "best" and Biggest in a CRT look at

the Loewe 38" it is the Largest tube TV out right now, expensive and PQ

is rated the best.

Newer, better is always more. The prices are coming down though at least in the States. I have heard that you guys pay a hefty premium for this

"stuff" on top of having to pay more for Sony as it is.

The 16:9 sets are not much more expensive than a similar sized 4:3 set. The 34" 16:9 set has a larger 16:9 image area than a 4:3 36" set which in the same product line is a similar price. Of course a higher line (like XBR) 16:9 set will be higher priced than a lower line (HS) 4:3 set - but thats comparing apples and oranges. A 34XBR800 (34" 16:9 set) is selling now for around $1999 compared to a 40XBR800 (40" 4:3 set) selling for $2499, so I would say the 16:9 set in that case is cheaper than a 4:3 set.
