I couldn't find anything related to my problem with the 'Search" function, so....

My old projector, a Sharp XV-Z1U, stopped working after the requisite 2000 hours, and the red "LAMP" warning indicator was projected on the screen.

I replaced the lamp with a new one, but the "LAMP" signal still shows on the screen.

Does anyone know what I have to do to fix that?

Thank you!

You need to reset the lamp timer. The instructions should be in your users guide. If you can't find it ... a quick call to 1-800-BE-SHARP should have you up and running.

By the way, I hope you didn't throw away your original lamp. It will still work and may serve as a good backup. The timer in the projector was the only thing that shut your lamp down if it shut down at exactly 2000 hours.

Ericbres,

Nothing in the manual, but a tech at the number you supplied gave me another number (not toll-free) and THAT tech gave me instructions. Also, I saved the old bulb, so it's running off that now.

Just in case anyone else needs it:

TO RESET THE “LAMP†TIMER:

Turn the master rocker button (on/off, not “powerâ€) to “OFFâ€.

On top of the unit, simultaneously hold down the

Volume “DOWN†button and the bottom-most “DOWNâ€

‘adjustment’ button (in the gang of 4 buttons) while

turning “ON†the rocker switch.

This will reset your lamp hours to “0000â€

Thanks again, Ericbres.
