laptop to X1 and a cabling question

203 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  NizZ8
3 hopefully simple questions.

1. If running through VGA out port of computer (watching DVD), is that effectively a 'progressive' DVD player?

2. When trying to watch same DVD through S-Video out on computer (just as a test), everything (all icons, text, etc...) shows up fine except the actual video, which shows up as a blank black screen...tried windows media 9 and a couple of other players, all with the same result....what's going on here?

3. When running cabling from projector to controls, (component and s-video), i am under the assumption I should separate the controls wires from the power to the projector and run them through separate conduits/routes...is this necessary?

thanks in advance....

Try the PJ's under $3500 forum. Tons of X1 info there
yes..adjust your resolution to 800x600 on your laptop for a 1:1 pixel mapping ,and then just plug in your laptop VGA output to your x1's VGA port, and you're off.

There's more stuff you can do with adjusting the resolutions for scaling and what not, but 1:1 is a good place to get ya started..
