Largest size LCD for PC use?

906 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Terminader
I was wondering when it comes to LCDs and computer use, how big is too big?

I'm currently using a 42" 1080p display as my PC monitor and I like it just fine, but I'm trying to figure out if a 47" or 52" would be uncomfortable for daily PC tasks? Any and all opinions on the subject are greatly appreciated.

I use my 5265F Samsung (52') with my HTPC via DVI from my couch all the time. 1920x1080 and crisp and clear. I use Opera to scale up web pages 150% since it does the flash and graphics too, not just text.

On the other hand, I would say the TV is fine to use for occasional browsing (every odd night) but I wouldn't want to make it my main PC. It'd be do-able but just kind feel wrong to do all your stuff from a couch. I don't think has much to do with a big size, more that you're used to sitting at a desk with a chair.

And no, I wouldn't want to put my 52' LCD on a computer desk

I use my 52" Vizio occasionally from my laptop. The closer you get to the screen, however, the more you have to swivel your head. :)
