It is DD+ for the US version, correct?

When I replaced my HD DVD with the BD I never bothereds to open it or check.

I don't know if I've ever seen a Blu-ray release that uses DD+. The domestic release on BD does have a 640kbps DD track, which is better than DVD.

the audio on the US BD (straight DD) is **** compared to the HD-DVD DD+ track, the bass is weak on the BD, in fact no comparison to the DD+ track

would love to have this and see how it stacks up, as this is one of my favs

I still would put the HD/BD encode as a top reference PQ pick if I were asked for a opinion

The HD-DVD's track is recorded at a low volume. It's ****, so the BD must be truly awful.

I'll be curious to see if the Korean release is done properly. If it is, I am buying.

So did anyone end up picking this up?

Looks like I didn't lie

As I recall, there are scenes in the movie with Japanese dialogue. The foreign Blu-ray editions are unlikely to default to English subtitles during those scenes.

its actually the same disc they sell here in Europe....

Yes but Craig doesn't want PAL 480i/p extras, right?

(By the way Craig, I've been region free for awhile and have been importing for 4 years.)

Does that site have an English version? I was thinking of "switching-over" my HDDVD.

There is no such thing as PAL 480i/p

Pal would be PAL 576i/p.

There are apparently several countries that have this released.

It's interesting because the HD DVD didn't have TrueHD so they actually created a different encoding for this, no? I wonder if the video is any different.

Again, so funny, considering I've never seen this movie and have no interest in it.
