Man I am totally hyper to get my hands on one of these. Three inputs on the back. Edit from HD and dump to DVD. Sweet. No guide, that's a bummer but even if there was it would not support my BUD.
If they marketing hype is even marginally accurate I will finally have a robust recording solution that makes accurate recordings off my big dish. I can run my 4DTV, my DVB box and a D* unit into the back of a single box.
I wonder if the DVD out is progressive and if so which chipset they use?
Dont forget the Panasonic DMR-HS2. It has similar specs but with a smaller 40gig drive. The keys will be whether the HS2 has the RP82's electronics as its player and what the price delta is between these units. Here is the press release (blah) for the HS2:
