Lay Receiver Sideways?

Is it going to hurt a receiver if I lay it on its side? I have a Yamaha HTR-5780.

since most receivers depend on convection cooling (heat rising) out the top of the case, I'd say its a bad idea unless you want to put a fan in to vent the heat.
