When I watch movies the movie briefly pauses during a layer change about halfway during the movie. I think the pause is irritating and the speakers and sub making a sound just makes it more undesirable. Can this problem be normal for DVD themselves? Is this a problem with DVD players? If not I'll look into my reciever causing this problem.
This is not normal, at least for most DVDs. What DVD player do you have? We need some information about your equipment in order to be of any assistance.
I have had 2 DVD players with a popping issue. Both were/are Cambridge Audio 540d.
The 1st unit I returned to dealer for exchange. I only had it 2 weeks when durring playback I would puase, stop, fastforward etc.The dealer acted as if it was a problem they never heard of.The 2nd 540d started doing it after 2 months. Not at all like the 1st unit but durring chapter changes. It only did it on 4 different movies, and only durring a 1 week period. I called dealer who informed me it would have to be taken care of by distributer. Called distributer, they said they have never heard anything like that. I have sent CA 540D to distributer for warranty work.I hope they refund my money because I can not afford to replace woofers in my speakers everytime I get that pop.If they return the unit I'll just use it for CD playback in my work shop.
I have had to replace 2 bass drivers in Monitor Audio GR-20's because of this. Monitor Audio's Distributer, Kevro Inter. , was good enough to replace the 2nd driver at no cost to me, even knowing it was a problem created by DVD player.
