Would it be worth the effort to return my 62U set and pick up the new 64U.I am still within my return period and it be be about the same price.Any issues with the 64U?Is it a much better set?
Absolutely...do not wait as WESTA6969 posted earlier:"
Ther D62 was the first panel from Sharp that established the BANDING problems - which they never resolved in that series."
I'll add that the 64U series has a sleeker look and is less wide ideal for wall mountinng.
I am thinking of getting the 46D64U as pricing is dropping however make sure to test for banding that is supposed to be less evident than the 62 series.
If budget allows I would also consider the Samsung 71 series or Matte version 69 series and or Sony 46W3000
As was mentioned, the 64 is 1" smaller in all dimensions, making it lighter as well. It also has an extra HDMI input (never a bad thing), and slightly better image processing.
