i thought lcd's didn't have image retention, was i wrong? i just bought a 46" samsung lcd and it's pretty obvious. whenever i exit a game on my ps3 and go to the main menu, a ghost image of the text remains in the black backround. it disappears as soon as another image is displayed, but it really obvious while it's there. it usually only shows up on really dark/black backrounds. is there anything i can do?

you should post the model number of your Samsung

This is very common unfourtantly it is a byproduct of DNIe

You have a few options

Turn down your brightness/contrast you will lose more detail in dark areas

Turn off DNIe depends on your model you have.

Learn to live with it

You can try movie mode as DNIe is turned down in this mode.

OK it is harder to do that on the 92 as turning off DNIe can only be done in the SM. Check the LN-S4692D thread.
