I sure could use some advice on buying a 19" LCD display for my computer.

I have learned to look at response time/ contrast ratio/and brightness,

I use this primarily for gaming. I dont really have a price limit, but would expect to pay around the $500 range for one with DVI out .

I was impressed with Sonys new model mainly for the looks and the brightness levels, and then again I have yet to se this model from Samsung its called the syncmaster 193p+ which has a 1000:1 ratio, and a 8ms response timel.

I would welcome and comments or learning .

Thanks

No personal Experience but going to newegg.com and looking at reviews, seems like that Samsung Syncmaster is a godsend. Remember i know nothing about it but i was planning on buying one until money got tight.

I saw some sony's but only at the sony store so i thought they looked good aesthically (sp) but i don't know about games and ****.

I too have read some of Neweggs reviews, didnt quite get the info I was hoping for. The only info I have recieved about LCD PC monitors , is that Samsung and Sony out perform most of the competitions performance, but for a price, but the way I look at it 3 years ago a 19" lcd monitor would have put you close to a 1k so to drop $500 into a monitor that is top rated is NP.

Spinal Tap,

One monitor you would be very happy with is the:

HYUNDAI L90D+ Silver 19" 8ms LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 700:1 Built in Speakers 0.294mm Pixel Pitch

It is a monitor that will handle FPS without any ghosting.

Since it is not widescreen, you will not have problems with games stretching either.

Take Care,

Richard
