If plasmas ran an uncompressed CG demoloop running at 120fps LCD would be dead and buried five years ago

It's not the technology that is bad nobody even knows what its capable of

Let me tell you its as clear as when you look out a window

No, they wouldn't.

Plasma is limited to around 60Hz anyway - the panels may be driven up to 3000Hz FFD for the high end Panasonic plasmas but that's mostly marketing nonsense - there are only 60 different images per second.

With new plasmas, you've got aggressive ABL which always annoys me when I'm watching. My older 2008 Panasonic hardly has any ABL -- but this comes at the expense of more energy consumption (up to 600W for a 46"!)

Black levels don't show well in shops, nor do reflective screens.

LCD has a place imo. For 42 inch and below, for people who do not mind about having average picture quality because they just want a TV.

Plasma is not at all limited to 60Hz

I can run any refresh rate up to 125Hz on my panel (TH-42PF30U) and every 3D capable plasma is capable of similar or higher refresh rates technically speaking

The added realism going from 60 to 100hz is like jumping from 480p to 1080p

The only limitation exists in the interface used (HDMI 1.4, VGA, single link DVI)

What a damn shame we will never see display port to showcase the full potential of plasma
