LCDs and distortion from speakers?

Not sure if this belongs in this forum, or speaker forum - so I fipped a coin.

Does anybody know if speakers cause issues (i.e. distortions) when close to the side of an LCD TV like they do when close to a CRT? I searched the forums, but drawing a blank so far.

HT speakers should not cause any distortion on any TV. (Cause they are shielded)

With that said LCD TVs should not be affected by any speakers placed near the tv as it uses a different display technology than CRT.

Thank you! :)
LCDs and plasmas are unaffected by magnetic fields so speakers, whether shielded or not, should not cause any problems.
