I have a Samsung LED 240hz TV, UN55C7000, purchased it about two years ago.. This weekend I had a three year old kid in my house that through a toy car at the TV with an over hand hard throw and it chipped the glass on the TV!!

The glass chip is right through to the pixels and I counted approx 5 maybe 8 pixels that are dead and stuck glowing white right where the glass chip is..

Do you know if there is any hope in getting this repaired? I realize its probably not fixable but thought I ask you if there is any hope for a repair?

Likely have to look at getting it replaced. It's to expensive of a TV for me to live with a chip like that in it and will want to get it replaced if its not fixable.

Appreciate any help any one can give me, Thank You.

I can't imagine that's repairable, I'm sorry.

It looks like the chip sailed through the facing glass and tore a hole straight through the LCD array underneath allowing the backlight to leak through.

If you look closely, do you see the RGB subpixels "stuck" on (making white), or just the glaring white of the backlight itself?  Either way, I think the panel part of it is done with.  :(

thanks for the reply..

the chip looks like it went right through,

if I look really close into the chip I can see the pixels

stuck on and glowing bright white light...

at night watching the tv it's like a mini flash light

beeming out through the chip...

it's hard to watch the tv your attention is always

drawn to the beam of light...

Well.. off to the tv store to shop for a new tv..

Be one expensive bill for that kids dad..

If I try to sell this chipped tv to off set the cost

off a new one, what do think I can get for this tv

with a chip in it? $500?

I'd ask first what it costs to have the panel itself replaced.  It's the most expensive part of the TV, but if it's dramatically less than a new model, then it might be worth it.  I don't know much about that TV.
