What LED TV brand has the best image quality? Screen size above 42". LG, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, etc? I have an HD cable TV and a bluray player with HDMI connection.
"Best image quality" isn't so cut-and-dry. There are so many possibilities on the market, but the top choices PQ wise would probably be one of the UHD (so-called "4K") models from Sony and Samsung. Depending on your situation you might not need to spend that much money and a less expensive 1080p model may be more than good enough for your particular needs (such as the 1080p Sony W600B or W700B or W800B series).

You might want to indicate the screen size(s) you're considering as well as your viewing distance and budget limits which would greatly help narrow the list down to more specific brands and models.

Poke around this site - they have good information about various brands/models and you can compare 4 models at a time:

Samsung 65" JS9000. It's very nice, especially for satellite 1080i channels. It's not cheap ($5k).

Just went to an electronic store. Everything looks sharp and bright.... must have been the booster.....

Any good TV for a $500 budget?
Of course everything looks sharp and bright, they are displaying their best content and are in torch mode to attract customers. Depending on the tv, once you get it home and watch a movie in a dark environment, it all goes downhill. Unless your budget increases, expect this from a low budget tv, along with other problems.
