The JVC RS1 and both the Ruby and Pearl talk about lens shift but there description is a little confusing.

The Sony's show a 65% vertical shift available but the picture shows the projector centered on the screen. Does this then mean you can only mount the projector (center of lens) up to 15% above or below the screen since 50 % is used by moving the projo to the top and bottom.

On the JVC there is a 80% vertical shift. Again, is there spec the same as Sony so you could go 30% above or below the screen to the center of the lens.

After typing this it looks like a stupid question but I am trying to confirm positively. The JVC guy said you can move a full screen up or down, which doesn't make sense as I suggest the spec reads.

Thanks for your help.

The RS-1 is 80% of the height, which lets you put it +/-30% of the height above or below the screen; 34% of the width lets you get it within 16% of either side; you can't do full height and width at the same time, but the interaction isn't strong. Draw a rectangle, and round the corners generously.

Let's say the top of a 43" high screen is 20" below the ceiling. Does this mean the projector can be, say, 10" below the ceiling? Would the 10" be measured from the center of the lens or from somewhere else on the projector?
